I am sick of the talk about the Penguins-Capitals rivalry.
Games featuring them are not a dire competition between the two teams, but rather a way for the NHL to showcase Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Alex Ovechkin.
If this were a real rivalry it would last beyond the careers of these players, which it will not.
Look at real rivalries in sports such as Red Wings-Blackhawks and Yankees-Red Sox. These teams have disliked each other for decades.
The fans dislike the other teams, not just select players on the rosters.

"We're playing the defending champs and you can tell they're not going to beat themselves. That team, just from them going all the way, you can see it over there. There's no panic…You can tell that's a machine over there and we've got to be at our best."
