Sad about Simon

As a lifelong Flyers fan I am saddened to see the Simon Gagne being traded.
If the NHL did not have a salary cap, Gagne would still be a Flyer and probably for the remainder of his career.
All you hear about is "competitive balance" and everyone attributes that to the cap, but the diehard fans who watch players grow up and mature with their team feel the pain when they're forced to be dealt because they can't be kept.
