Reports: Former San Jose Sharks goaltender Nabokov signs with KHL team

Former San Jose Sharks goaltender Evgeni Nabokov is heading home to Russia to play in the Kontinental Hockey League, according to multiple reports.

Nabokov reportedly signed a four-year contract with KHL team SKA St. Petersburg, home to several former NHL players including Sergei Zubov and Alexei Yashin.

Nabokov has been one of the top goalies in the NHL the past few years, winning a league-best 131 games over the past three seasons. He has a 293-215-29 record in 10 seasons with the Sharks, with a 2.39 goals-against average.

Nabokov, 34, went 44-26 with a 2.43 goals against average last season. The Sharks reached the Western Conference final but they were swept by Chicago.
