Jackets say former interim coach Noel and assistants Agnew, Murphy won't be back

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Columbus Blue Jackets head coach Scott Arniel will have some new assistant coaches next season.

Former interim head coach Claude Noel and assistant coaches Gary Agnew and Gord Murphy will not return for the 2010-'11 season, the NHL club said in a release Tuesday.

"On behalf of the entire Blue Jackets organization, I'd like to thank all of these men for the hard work and commitment they put forth on behalf of our team," said general manager Scott Howson. "We expect to have final decisions on the new members of our staff within the next few weeks."

Arniel was named head coach last week.

The Blue Jackets also said that strength and conditioning coach Barry Brennan will not return next season.

All things considered, how would you rate this NHL season?

“I think when you’re at home the first two games, sometimes you get a little bit too comfortable at home. Then you come on the road, maybe it’s like a rude awakening…We’ve had three series to figure that out, learn it. We definitely want to be better (Monday), especially in the first game on the road.”
