As an Atlanta Thrashers season ticket holder, I was able to garner the unique opportunity to have dinner with Thrashers president Don Waddell.
For all of the negative press he receives, one can't deny his passion and, in his tenure with the team, he has proven himself to be very accessible.
He spent more than three hours with my two season ticket partners and I talking and answering our questions and concerns about the team.
He has never been one to shy away from tough questions or issues. In the end, we discovered his concerns for the team were the same as ours.
For the sake of the league and the sport, I hope other NHL executives prove to be as accessible as Waddell.

"We're playing the defending champs and you can tell they're not going to beat themselves. That team, just from them going all the way, you can see it over there. There's no panic…You can tell that's a machine over there and we've got to be at our best."
