As a life-long Flyers fan, I am saddened by the overtime loss that ended the final. But I am very happy that they gave us two of the best hockey months I can ever remember.
My Dad is fighting cancer that was diagnosed at the start of the hockey season. As the playoffs neared, I prayed that the Flyers would just make it and give him and our family something to focus on.
Well, they did that and much more as they gave us a ride that should never be forgotten.
As my Dad continues to fight his disease, I am hopeful that the true determination that Flyers gave us will turn into something positive for my Dad and our family.
Thank you, Philadelphia Flyers, and congrats to the Chicago Blackhawks.
