Giroux scores in OT as Bears edge Stars 2-1 for 3-2 Calder Cup final lead

CEDAR PARK, Texas - Alexandre Giroux scored in overtime and Michal Neuvirth made 35 saves Friday as the Hershey Bears edged the Texas Stars 2-1 to take a 3-2 series lead in the American Hockey League's Calder Cup final.

Stars centre Aaron Gagnon opened the scoring in the first period with a power-play goal at 8:03.

Francois Bouchard levelled the game midway through the second with his fifth of the post-season for the Bears.

Giroux's winner was his 14th goal of the playoffs.

Texas goalie Matt Climie took the loss despite an impressive 41-save performance on 43 shots.

The series now shifts to Hershey for Game 6 where the Bears will try to close it out on Monday.

Game 7 would be Wednesday in Hershey.
