Kudos to Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews for not touching the Clarence S. Campbell Bowl following his team winning the Eastern Conference.
After Sidney Crosby lifted the Prince of Wales Trophy last season, I feared that the younger captains in the NHL would break the tradition of not touching the conference trophies, despite Crosby's actions being a special occasion.
Even though Toews is one of the youngest captains in the NHL, by not touching the Campbell Trophy it showed he has a great respect for the history of the NHL and the history of hockey.
I hope future captains will take note of Toews' actions so this great tradition that has been around for decades can continue to live on.
