I would like to take a moment to express my utter disgust regarding the antics of certain Montreal Canadiens fans after Game 7 against the Penguins – you know who you are.
Do you honestly think taking a photo of Sidney Crosby and burning it in the streets portrays an image worthy of a sport that "real" fans truly respect?
It's OK to not like certain players, but let's remember, they are people and have families. How would you feel if someone stood in the street burning a photo of your son or daughter? Let's keep it on the ice.
I bet these are the same people who were singing his praises when he put the puck in the net to get the gold for Team Canada. How soon they forget.
I won't even get into all the chaos that erupted in the streets; I can't imagine what would have happened if Montreal lost.
While I do love the Pens and especially Sid, I had always had respect for the Canadiens, but this just went way too far. It's really is a shame that the great run they are having is being tainted by such ignorance.
"Thanks" for portraying hockey fans in such a negative manner. It breaks my heart.
All I can say now is, “Go Flyers!”
