Mississauga awarded 2011 Memorial Cup

Mississauga, Ont., home of the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors, will be host of the 2011 Memorial Cup.

Barrie, Kingston and Windsor were also in the running for the event.

The Memorial Cup hasn't been played in the Greater Toronto Area since 1967. The Spitfires just finished defeating the Colts 4-0 for the team's second consecutive Ontario League championship and they'll be gunning to repeat as Memorial Cup champions.

This year's Memorial Cup, which starts Friday, is being played in Brandon, Man.
