In your May 10 issue there was an interesting column by Ken Campbell about whether or not goaltending is as big as we think it is in the playoffs.
I finished reading it and immediately wondered if anyone is watching the Montreal Canadiens?
Jaroslav Halak has stood on his head and more. He is almost singlehandedly backstopping Montreal to a great playoff run.
He has pulled in several 50-plus-save games and is usually facing between 30 and 45 a night. And yet he still found the ability to turn most of them aside.
Kudos to Halak for proving that goaltending can be the difference between a win and a loss.

“I think when you’re at home the first two games, sometimes you get a little bit too comfortable at home. Then you come on the road, maybe it’s like a rude awakening…We’ve had three series to figure that out, learn it. We definitely want to be better (Monday), especially in the first game on the road.”
- Chicago's Patrick Kane. The Blackhawks are 0-3 in Game 3s this playoff.
