I find it amazing how many people can justify saying Ryan Miller deserves both the Hart and the Vezina when there is clearly another goaltender who is more deserving of both honors.
There is a team that improved 14 wins and 28 points since last year, a team that saw its franchise player and captain record his lowest goal total in more than a decade.
The big difference? A whopping 50 less goals allowed. If you haven't guessed already, this team is the Phoenix Coyotes.
The Coyotes were carried by goalie Ilya Bryzgalov, who led his team to their best season ever and posted incredible numbers.
He was the cornerstone of the team all season and is not getting the credit he is so clearly due.
The turnaround that the Coyotes have experienced has not been overlooked, so let's not overlook what it was, or more accurately, who it was, that turned them around.
The only way not to give Bryzgalov both the Hart and the Vezina would be to answer this question: What more can a goaltender do?
I know that I can't come up with an honest answer, can you?
