Heat shut out Americans 2-0 in Game 7; will face Bulldogs in next round

ROCHESTER, N.Y. - David Shantz made 24 saves as the Abbotsford Heat completed the comeback Tuesday night, shutting out the Rochester Americans 2-0 in Game 7 of their American League Hockey playoff series.

John Lammers and Olivier Latendresse scored the goals for Abbotsford, which trailed the North Division semifinal 3-1 before reeling off three straight wins.

The Heat took Game 5 by a count of 3-1, before winning 5-1 in Game 6 to force Tuesday's decider.

Tyler Plante made 38 saves for Rochester in defeat.

Abbotsford finished 0-for-2 on the power play, while Rochester went 0-for-4.

The Heat now move on to face Hamilton in the North Division final after the Bulldogs beat the Manitoba Moose in six games.

Game 1 goes Thursday in Hamilton.
