An impressive body of work

With all of the talk in the hockey world surrounding the final days of Keith Tkachuk, Mike Modano and Mellon Arena, lost in the shuffle of things is the sad truth this may be the last we see of Rod Brind'Amour.

Much like Modano and Tkachuk, Rod "The Bod" was known a leader whose loyalty and dedication to his teams were unmatched. He was rewarded for his grit and tenacity by twice winning the Selke Trophy and by winning a Stanley Cup as the captain of the Hurricanes in 2006.

Throughout his career, Brind'Amour exemplified to young players what it takes to have a long and productive NHL career and his contributions to both the Hurricanes and hockey in general will not be forgotten.
