2006 third round draft pick Carman agrees to entry-level deal with Avalanche

DENVER - University of Minnesota forward Mike Carman has signed an entry-level contract with the Colorado Avalanche and will report to the team's American Hockey affiliate, the Lake Erie Monsters.

Carman, a third-round draft pick in 2006, just completed his senior season with the Gophers, tallying 18 points in 39 games. The native of Augusta, Ga., had 29 goals and 37 assists in 135 career games at Minnesota.

Carman represented the U.S., at the 2007 and '08 IIHF world junior championships.
