Predators acquire Denis Grebeshkov from Oilers for draft pick

The Edmonton Oilers have traded defenseman Denis Grebeshkov to the Nashville Predators for a second round draft pick in this summer’s draft.

The 26-year-old Grebeshkov has 19 points in 47 games, missing 13 games with a torn ACL. Grebeshkov is a minus-16 and is struggling after posting 39 points and a plus-12 rating last season. He is eligible for restricted free agency this summer and is currently making $3.15 million.

The Oilers acquired the Russian Olympian from the New York Islanders in 2007 for defenseman Marc-Andre Bergeron and a third round selection in 2008.He was originally selected in the first round (18th overall) by the Los Angeles Kings in 2002 and has 16 goals and 82 points in 223 career NHL games.
