The San Jose Sharks once again find themselves atop the Western Conference standings. But this year they’re hoping the addition of Dany Heatley and his newfound chemistry with Patrick Marleau and Joe Thornton will finally lead the team to playoff glory.
The trio has 86 goals and 205 points in 186 combined games this season and they don’t seem to be slowing down. In the opening game of the Olympic tournament the three recorded two goals and two assists, helping Canada rout Norway 8-0.
If the line can continue its torrid pace it may help the home team mine gold in 2010. But when the Winter Games are done the trio will switch its focus back to the NHL and leading San Jose to the promised land.
Ken Campbell caught up with the fearsome threesome before they departed for Vancouver.
