Chris Copeman, Huntsville, Ont.
I've seen it so many times on TV and in arenas, but today I had a real glimpse at why hockey players are truly the best sportsmen out there.
I just finished the first day at the Canadian national pond hockey championship where I am volunteering for the first time and I have never been more proud to be Canadian.
I officiated three games and was overwhelmed with the response from the players. I had the pleasure of talking with a number of them over the course of the day.
The level of respect they have for one another and the officials is unbelievable. It was 24 rinks filled with players who truly love hockey.
I can't think of anywhere else I would rather be.

“I think when you’re at home the first two games, sometimes you get a little bit too comfortable at home. Then you come on the road, maybe it’s like a rude awakening…We’ve had three series to figure that out, learn it. We definitely want to be better (Monday), especially in the first game on the road.”
- Chicago's Patrick Kane. The Blackhawks are 0-3 in Game 3s this playoff.
