Sharks defenceman Dan Boyle misses third straight game with upper body injury

SAN JOSE, Calif. - Defenceman Dan Boyle will miss his third straight game for the San Jose Sharks because of an undisclosed upper body injury.

Boyle will sit out Thursday night's game against Chicago. The Sharks had been hoping to have their top scoring defenceman back for the matchup between the top two teams in the Western Conference, but he was ruled out at the morning skate.

Boyle is a member of the Canadian Olympic team. He leads Sharks defencemen with 43 points.

San Jose called up defenceman Jason Demers from Worcester of the AHL to play against the Blackhawks. The Sharks also called up Logan Couture from Worcester.
