When discussing whether Curtis Joseph deserves to be in the Hall of Fame, one statistic that never seems to surface is his 24,279 career saves (an NHL record).
If the key objective of a goaltender is to stop the puck, I don't see how the Hall of Fame could keep out the guy who, upon retiring, had stopped the most pucks in NHL history.
Martin Brodeur is the only goalie who is close, but what record isn't he breaking these days? I sincerely hope Joseph makes it into the Hall when eligible, but either way he'll always be one of the best goalies of all time in my book.
