Koivu scores twice, Backstrom solid in goal in Wild's 4-2 win over Blue Jackets

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Mikko Koivu scored twice and Niklas Backstrom stopped 21 shots as the Minnesota Wild snapped a four-game losing streak with a 4-0 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday night.

Koivu, Minnesota's leading scorer, netted an early goal in each of the first two periods and has 26 points in the past 29 games for the Wild. Eric Belanger and Robbie Earl added goals for Minnesota, which built a 4-0 lead.

Steve Mason's struggles away from home continued for Columbus. Mason, who has just one road win since November, stopped 24 shots. Rick Nash and Antoine Vermette both scored in the final minute to bring the Blue Jackets closer.
