Steve Wagner scores OT winner as Peoria Rivermen beat Manitoba Moose 2-1

PEORIA, Ill. - Steve Wagner scored the overtime winner as the Peoria Rivermen edged the Manitoba Moose 2-1 in American Hockey League action Friday.

Wagner scored just 36 seconds into extra time as the Rivermen improved to 10-8-3.

After going scoreless through two periods, Peoria centre Nicholas Drazenovic broke the tie 33 seconds into the third.

Marty Murray scored the lone goal for the Moose (12-9-4) at 10:39 to send the game to OT.

Peoria goaltender Hannu Toivonen made 21 saves for the win, while at the other end Cory Schneider stopped 31 shots.

Notes: Peoria right-winger Ryan Reaves, son of former Winnipeg Blue Bombers running back Willard Reaves, was held scoreless with no shots.
