SMACK: AS I STATED A FEW DAYS AGO ON A DIFFERENT STORY BUT WITH A SAME COMMON DENOMINATOR, THERE ARE PLENTY OF NHL REFEREES WHO SHOULD BE DISCIPLINED AND REPREMANDED FOR THEIR BONEHEADED AND PERSONAL INVOLVEMENT IN THE GAMES THEY WORK. AS I STATED, IT ALWAYS SEEMS THAT EVERY TIME THE BLACKHAWKS GET KERRY FRASER (2) OR DAVID JACKSON (8) ASSIGNED TO ONE OF THEIR GAMES, THEY GET THE ROYAL C.F. TREATMENT WHILE GETTING RIPPED OFF WITH AT LEAST 1 STUPID PENALTY DURING EACH GAME THAT GENERALLY COSTS THEM A GOAL OR A VICTORY. YOU DON'T HAVE TOM BE THE SHARPEST KNIFE IN THE DRAWER TO SEE THIS TYPE OF SITUATION OCCUR TIME AND TIME AGAIN, WHICH JUST LEADS BACK TO THE FACT THAT I BELIEVE IT HAPPENS OVER AND OVER BECAUSE OF THE TYPE OF LEADERSHIP THAT IS HEADING THE LEAGUE, WHICH IS A DIRECT FINGER POINTING TO "THAT LITTLE TROLL UNDER THE BRIDGE," GARY BETTMAN !!! THIS GUY HAS BEEN A LIABILITY TO THE SPORT, GAME, AND LEAGUE FOR TOO MANY YEARS, NOW, AND SHOULD BE AXED "POST HASTE" AND DISBANDED BACK TO THE NBA, OR ANYWHERE ELSE, THAT ALL SELF RESPECTING HOCKEY FANS DON'T GIVE A CRAP ABOUT !!!

WHAT IS THAT SMELL: I WOULD HAVE TO AGREE; THE SHARKS SEEM TO BE ENERGIZED AND SPUNKED TO HAVING A REAL GOOD SEASON, COURTESEY OF THIS DEAL. IT IS A DISSAPPOINTING SHAME, HOWEVER, THAT IN ORDER TO GET TO SAN JOSE, DANY HEATLEY HAD TO ACT LIKE A CHILD, NOT UNLIKE ANOTHER OTTAWA SENATOR DID A YEAR AGO. IT APPEARS THAT THE NEW FLYER GOALIE LEARNED A VALUABLE LESSON, SO NOW WE'LL SEE IF HEATLEY GAINS THE SAME BENEFIT, WITHOUT BEING SUBJECTED TO A FAR OFF DISTANT LAND ???

Some bad breaks and either some sloppy play or otherwise too many penalties against a good team. Jon Stevens said it best, Special Teams won that game. Once again, I COULD NOT WATCH most of the game. Something must be wrong with me, because I cannot watch a hockey game where the officials ARE, for whatever reason, TOO involved with the game calling penalties. The other problem I have is TV NOT showing or not showing a clear look at the penalty calls. The first call on the Flyers was never shown. With game tied, the second highsticking call on Carter to Boyle was never shown clearly; all you could see was Boyle's head going back, trying to drawl a call. I guess it was a good call, but the viewer, me in this case, could not tell from the replay. In WHATEVER case, the Flyers NEED to get the penalties under control, and the officials need to STAY OUT of the game, unless there is a legitimate call, but also call the game fairly -- tough job, but that's why they’re paid the BIG bucks; they don't like it, they can officiate little league hockey!
