A loss is a loss

Mike Truman, Biddeford, Me.

The NHL is suffering through a plague of overtime losses this season. It feels like half the schedule is going into overtime every night.

Tampa is on pace for 30 overtime loses. Thirty!

The Islanders aren't too far behind. At this rate, every team will be “over .500” by season's end.

Our standings are absurd. It's time to call the loss a loss no matter when it occurs. Two points for the win; no points for the loss.
