Hawks shouldn't worry about the future

Michael Raiger, Sarnia, Ont.

Forget all this talk about the Blackhawks needing to look to the off-season to re-sign their "Big Four RFAs" (yes, that is correct; Niklas Hjalmarsson will be a superstar in this league one day).

As a Hawks fan, I say it's time to end this Stanley Cup drought already!

Cristobal Huet might be shaky, but this team is allowing just a tad more than 20 shots against per game without Marian Hossa (one of the best defensive forwards in the game), so worrying about goaltending does not sit with me.

So forget this talk about trading Patrick Sharp, Kris Versteeg, and Cam Barker in attempts to save money for the off-season.

Keep this team together* and let's go win the Cup!

*Trading Brian Campbell's handcuffing contract excluded.

Will the Blackhawks come back from a 2-1 series deficit to win the Stanley Cup?

“I think when you’re at home the first two games, sometimes you get a little bit too comfortable at home. Then you come on the road, maybe it’s like a rude awakening…We’ve had three series to figure that out, learn it. We definitely want to be better (Monday), especially in the first game on the road.”

- Chicago's Patrick Kane. The Blackhawks are 0-3 in Game 3s this playoff.
