The Hockey News player of the week for the period of Nov. 2-8, 2009, is San Jose Sharks goaltender Evgeni Nabokov.
In three games on the week, Nabokov and the Sharks posted a 2-0-1 records with wins over Pittsburgh and Columbus and an overtime loss to Detroit.
Nabokov posted a GAA of 1.00 and a save percentage of .967 on the week, which included a 27-save shutout of the high powered Penguins offense. Nabokov has won six of his past seven starts and as a result the Sharks sit with a 12-4-2 record and tied with Colorado for tops in the league.
The 2001 rookie of the year, Nabokov is now 11-3-2 with a 2.14 GAA and .925 SP on the season, good for third in both stats among starting goalies in the league.
