Thrashers, looking for depth after losing Kovalchuk, recall centre Krog

ATLANTA - The Atlanta Thrashers recalled centre Jason Krog from the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League on Tuesday.

The team is looking to add depth after announcing Monday that captain Ilya Kovalchuk would be sidelined for about a month with a broken bone in his right foot.

The 34-year-old Krog had four points in 14 games with the Thrashers in the 2006-07 season and has played with four other NHL teams.

Krog had one goal and six assists in eight games with the Wolves.
