How about removing the bluelines?

Scott Singor, Virginia Beach, Va.

Why not just get rid of the bluelines altogether? We are constantly hearing of rule changes to speed up the game and increase scoring, why not get rid of the biggest impediment – offside?

Not only would it create a wide-open neutral zone, it would also get rid of half of the whistles.

Think of the real stretch passes and pressure a team could generate without having to worry about touching up on the bluelines.

Yes, I admit it would be quite a change, but I think the end product would be exciting end-to-end action.
