The road to the ultimate jersey crown is a long and arduous one, but 40 teams have stamped their passports to the group stage round. They are the best of their respective leagues and they come from everywhere in North America. From Rimouski to Rio Grande Valley, Quinnipiac to Brandon, the teams are ready to clash at the next level.
With the league voting closed, we move on to pool play. The advancing 40 teams have all been slotted geographically into four groups of 10. This week, you will be able to vote on your favorite from each of the new pools.
Click on each thumbnail for a larger picture.
From there, the top four per pool will be slotted into a single-elimination bracket of 16. Each week (view the schedule on The Hockey News Jersey Rankings and Tournament Central page) your vote will determine who moves on until we are provided with an ultimate champion.

Can Rimouski’s rabid fan base drive the Oceanic past their final rivals from last year’s logo rankings, the Montreal Canadiens? Will the North Dakota Fighting Sioux make another run for glory, or be topped by one of two Chicago teams, the NHL’s Blackhawks and AHL’s Wolves?
Rochester, N.Y., also has two bids thanks to the Amerks and RIT Tigers, while the University of Maine is in thanks to a late push past favored Boston U. Who will emerge from the group stage?
Once again, the choice is yours…

“I’m not expecting to score from out there. But every once in a while you get lucky. And Price said to me after the next face-off, 'You're welcome.' So those are nice ones to get.”
- New Jersey’s Zach Parise when asked about his first period goal on Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price during a first intermission interview on the MSG Plus network. The Devils won the game 5-3.
