SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Sharks have hired Matt Shaw as an assistant coach, reuniting him with head coach Todd McLellan.
Shaw replaces Todd Richards, who left the Sharks last month to become the Minnesota Wild's head coach.
Shaw spent the past two season on Jacques Lemaire's staff in Minnesota. Shaw was an assistant to McLellan, an Adams Trophy finalist in his debut season with the Sharks, from 2001-05 with the Houston Aeros of the AHL.
Shaw joins Trent Yawney and Jay Woodcroft on McLellan's staff.
