St. Louis Blues add depth in goal, sign veteran Ty Conklin

ST. LOUIS - Ty Conklin is packing his bags again.
The free-agent goaltender has signed a US$2.6-million, two-year deal with the St. Louis Blues, joining his sixth NHL team since the lockout.
Conklin played 40 games for the Detroit Red Wings last season, posting a 25-11-2 record along with a 2.51 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage. He recorded career-highs last season in games played, wins and shutouts (six).
He'll share the crease with Chris Mason in St. Louis.
"By signing Ty, we have deepened our goaltending position," said Blues president John Davidson. "Ty had a solid year last season and along with the job Chris did for us, we look forward to having two solid goaltenders next season."
Conklin was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by Edmonton in 2001. In 149 career NHL games, he has a 73-43-14 record, a 2.58 GAA and a .909 save percentage.
