New York Rangers add toughness by signing forward Donald Brashear

NEW YORK - It didn't take the New York Rangers very long to add some toughness.

After watching tough guy Colton Orr bolt to Toronto, the Rangers responded by signing free-agent forward Donald Brashear.

Brashear spent last season with the Washington Capitals and led the team with 119 penalty minutes. He had one goal and four points in 63 games.

In 989 career games with Montreal, Vancouver, Philadelphia and Washington, he has 85 goals and 204 points. Brashear has also racked up 2,561 penalty minutes.
