Ht: 6-feet  Wt: 210 pounds

DOB: April 12, 1968 In: Tecumseh, Ont.

Hockey Inspirations: "When I was a kid it was Darryl Sittler. I grew up in Toronto, loved the Toronto Maple Leafs as a kid. Certainly, anyone who's had the opportunity to grow up in Toronto, that's the only team that really existed for us when we were kids, whether it was road hockey or what have you. Obviously, times have changed and we all know what my team is now, but back as a kid it was Darryl Sittler. He wore No. 27, he was captain, he was kind of a balanced player where he was not only a skilled player, but he could fight, he could play in all situations. He still holds the record for most points in a game by a player - six goals and four assists - against Boston in, I think, 1976."

First Hockey Memory: "I guess the first time I got on the ice. My dad was a referee in a kids league and they were short on players. I was maybe four at the time and they just stuck me out on the ice. So I just stood on one spot."

Hobbies/Leisure Activities:
"As far as now, it's with the kids and coaching. Certainly, like everyone else, watching movies, getting outside, biking, exercise. For the most part still, everything is around hockey, the kids all play. Help coach - being here in New York with all the kid's programs."

Nicknames: “Gravy, Train.”

Favorite Movie:
"Braveheart."

Last Book Read: "I have to think about it. I’ve read all of the Sidney Sheldons. I’m certainly a magazine reader now. The last book I read was Five People You Meet In Heaven. And Tuesdays With Morrie and One More Day."

Favorite TV Show:
"Friends."

Musical Tastes:
"1970s and ‘80s classic rock, Bruce Springsteen, AC/DC, Eric Clapton, U2, Elton John, Bob Seger, some Grateful Dead."

First Job: "Paperboy for Toronto Globe & Mail beginning at age eight. Every day, six days a week, for seven years."

First Car: "A 1984 silver Thunderbird. It's the car I bought from my dad. I sold that and got a Jeep."

Favorite NHL Uniforms: "Yeah, Rangers."

Favorite Meal: "Food. Probably turkey dinner."

Favorite Ice Cream Flavor: "Chocolate chip cookie dough."

Greatest Sports Moment: "Winning the Cup in '94."

Favorite Arenas To Play:
"The Garden. And the second favorite would be probably the old Chicago Stadium."

Closest NHL Friends: "Oh, I've got too many to list. Certainly, my teammates in '94. I could just go off from the guys I've been so lucky to play with, from Brian (Leetch) to Mike (Richter) to Mark (Messier) to Glenn Healy to Mike Gartner to a young kid by the name of Tyler Bouck who I met through hockey who is like a little brother; he plays in Portland now. There are so many great people I've met."

Funniest Players Encountered: "Probably the funniest guy I've ever played with is Glenn Healy. Yeah, without question. And Mike Richter is right up there as well. I don't know if it's something in common being goalies or what have you."

Toughest Competitors: "To play against...certainly to play with it would be Mark, easily. (Messier) is the toughest mentally and physically I've ever encountered in anything. I mean, he's just as mentally tough a guy as you're going find. To play against - Scott Stevens and Kenny Daneyko. Those would be guys who people certainly in the tri-state area would know very well. They were very, very tough and really hard to play against."

Embarrassing Hockey Memory:
"Well, we've all scored on our own net. Couple of times."

Favorite Players To Watch: "Certainly, as far as goaltenders are concerned, Henrik (Lundqvist) is about as good as there is. As far as players to watch, certainly Ovechkin. The package he presents on a nightly basis. He's a one-man show himself in the way he handles the puck, his fierceness, the way that he plays, his toughness. I mean, he's a heckuva player."

Most Memorable Goal:
"Probably my first goal. It was in Toronto. My mom and dad were there. Scored against Allan Bester ('88)."

Strangest Game: "It probably would be a game in Washington where we went into the third period down like five or six goals. And we ended up winning the game. This is back in the early '90s.”

Personality Qualities Most Admired: "Humility. Like, we all make mistakes, so just humility. And, I guess, respect for others."
