Why is Gary Bettman so stubborn? He knows eventually he will have to give in and let Jim Balsillie have a team in Canada because he is simply offering too much.
Balsillie has tried to buy a team many times, but Bettman has been too childish to accept these colossal amounts of money.
Why does Gary Bettman care if one extra team is in Canada? If you think back years ago there were a pair Canadian teams that moved to American cities such as the Quebec Nordiques (now the Colorado Avalanche) and the Winnipeg Jets (now the Phoenix Coyotes).
This is a battle Gary is not going to win, so he might as well give it up now.
