Pierre Lacroix has upped the ante in his pursuit of Patrick Roy to rejoin the Avalanche, according to a report out of Montreal.
Ruefrontenac.com - a website run by locked-out journalists from Le Journal de Montreal - reported Sunday that Avs president Lacroix has offered Roy the jobs of coach and GM and that Roy wants to hire former NHLer Sylvain Lefebvre and Quebec League coach Guy Boucher as his assistants.
The report also suggested the Avs’ current vice president of hockey operations Craig Billington could serve as a co-GM.
The Denver Post reported last week that Colorado offered Roy its coaching job and that there was a possibility Roy might get the vacant GM job.
