Last second shots would add some excitment

I think the NHL should change the rule that the puck has to cross the goal line before the game clock expires.

Why not change the rule that the puck has to leave the shooter's stick before time expires? Just like the rule that exists in basketball, if the shooter gets off the shot before time expires and the puck goes in the net, the goal should count.

The rule change would add a little more excitement at the end of the first and second periods, but especially in the third period and overtime.
