SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Kevin Lalande made 32 saves to backstop the Syracuse Crunch to a 3-1 victory over the Toronto Marlies on Wednesday night in AHL action.
Maksim Mayorov and Nikita Filatov each scored for the Crunch to give Syracuse a 2-0 lead going into the third period.
Tim Stapleton scored his 20th of the year at 10:41 to pull the Marlies within one, but Syracuse's Alexandre Picard iced the victory with an empty-netter with just over a minute left to play.
The win moves the Crunch to 32-28-4-2.
Justin Pogge stopped 18 of 20 shots for Toronto (32-27-2-5).
