Sundin will make more than $5 million this season

The final numbers for Mats Sundin’s one-year deal with the Vancouver Canucks have finally been filed and they reveal that Sundin will earn a total of $5.6265 million for the rest of this season.

Sundin will earn a base salary of $1.6265 million and will be paid $4 million in an up front signing bonus.

Pro-rated over the entire season, the actual salary is slightly less than the $10 million the Canucks were offering on a two-year deal last summer. The contract was signed Dec. 18, so based on 116 days remaining in the 187-day regular season, Sundin’s full season salary based on this contract is $9.07 million. However, the Canucks will take a cap hit of $5.6265 million.
