The Hockey News’ player of the week is a newcomer to this space, B.J. Crombeen. The St. Louis right winger is making Blues management look clairvoyant for grabbing the 23-year-old off the waiver wire from Dallas in mid-November.
The 6-foot-2, 212-pounder’s week began with a three-goal, one-assist performance versus Nashville on Monday that included the game-winner. He followed that up with a goal, a fight and a plus-1 rating in a loss to Anaheim Wednesday. Thursday against Los Angeles, Crombeen was held scoreless in a 6-2 loss, but he came back Saturday with a goal and a plus-1 rating against league-leading San Jose.
For the week, Crombeen had five goals, an assist and was plus-2 in four games. For the season, he has seven goals and 13 points in 28 games; six goals and eight points in 13 games with the Blues.
