Bruins recall defensemen Boychuk, Lashoff from Providence

The Boston Bruins have recalled Johnny Boychuk and Matt Lashoff from their American League affiliate in Providence.

Boychuk, a 6-foot-2, 225 pound 24-year-old with a booming slapshot, leads all AHL defensemen with 23 points in 22 games. The 61st overall pick in the 2002 entry draft by Colorado, Boychuk has played in four career NHL games.

Lashoff, Boston's first round pick (22nd overall) in 2005, has posted 16 points in 18 games in the AHL this season. He was recalled to the NHL club from Nov. 19 to Nov. 27, but did not play a game.
