Player of the Week - Dec. 1

The Hockey News player of the week for the period of Nov. 24-30 is Florida Panthers goalie Craig Anderson.

In back-to-back games against the Eastern powerhouse New York Rangers, Anderson turned aside 43 shots in an eventual shootout loss, then cranked it up two days later by foisting a 37-save shutout on the Blueshirts.

Including an earlier overtime loss to the New Jersey Devils, where he gave up just one goal in relief of Tomas Vokoun, Anderson's save percentage never dipped below .940 for the week.

The Panthers' "backup" boasts a 1.87 goals-against average for the season.
