Caps sign 2008 draft pick John Carlson to 3-year entry-level deal

ARLINGTON, Va. - The Washington Capitals signed first-round draft pick John Carlson to a three-year entry-level contract Thursday.

The 18-year-old Carlson was the 27th overall selection in the 2008 NHL entry draft.

He is in his first season with the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League.
