Columbus Blue Jackets call up forward Maksim Mayorov from Syracuse

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Blue Jackets added forward Maksim Mayorov to the roster from their AHL affiliate in Syracuse on Saturday.

Mayorov has seven goals and nine assists for 16 points with 20 penalty minutes in 33 games with the Syracuse Crunch in his first professional season.

He is tied for third on the club in goals, points and power-play goals.

The 19-year-old Mayorov was the 94th pick overall in the 2007 draft.

He also played with Ak Bars Kazan of the Russian Elite League.

It was an interesting phemonenon...the better Mason played, the better Pazzy's ankle felt! Pazzy, as a starting goalie, has only been available for just over half of the last 50 or so games due to injury. This isn't a starting goalie, this is Rick DiPietro. Hopefully Mason's presence, not only pushes him to clean up his technique, but also to maintain his health.
