Columbus Blue Jackets send goalie Dan LaCosta down to AHL affiliate

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Blue Jackets sent goaltender Dan LaCosta to the club's American Hockey League affiliate in Syracuse.

LaCosta stopped 15 of 17 shots in 35 minutes Saturday night at Nashville in relief of Fredrik Norrena. The 22-year-old was recalled late Friday after starting goaltender Pascal Leclaire injured his right thumb when he caught a shot on the inside of his blocker.

Leclaire's injury was not considered serious and LaCosta's return to the AHL likely means that Leclaire will return before the Blue Jackets' next game on Tuesday. LaCosta is 4-0-0 with a 2.09 goals-against average and .933 save percentage in four games with Syracuse.
