The Hockey News player of the week for the period of Oct. 6 to Oct. 12 is Vancouver Canucks left winger Daniel Sedin.
The 28-year-old picked up two goals and three assists as the Canucks picked up a pair of victories over the Flames.
Sedin opened the season with three assists, helping Vancouver to a 6-0 win to kick of the 2008-09 campaign Oct. 9.
Two nights later, the Ornskoldsvik, Sweden native potted a pair of goals to help extinguish Calgary 5-4 in overtime.
Sedin, who, along with his brother Henrik, is schedule to become an unrestricted free agent this summer, is coming off a season where he scored 29 goals and 74 points.
