Central Hockey League players lift strike after agreement on meetings

TEMPE, Ariz. - Players in the Central Hockey League have lifted their strike after the league agreed to meetings with Professional Hockey Players' Association officials this week in Denver.

The players went on strike Wednesday to protest stalled talks on a new collective bargaining agreement. The two sides will meet Wednesday and Thursday in Denver.

Lifting of the strike will allow on-ice activities to begin at training camps Monday ahead of the regular-season's start Oct. 17.

The CHL has 16 teams across nine states in the U.S.

Wow. I live in a CHL city and this is the first news I heard of the strike. Lovely local media. Never any reliable hockey news here. Then again, it is the Central Hockey League.
