Canadiens defenceman Mathieu Carle carried off the ice on stretcher

DETROIT - Montreal Canadiens defenceman Mathieu Carle has been carried off the ice on a stretcher after being hit by Detroit Red Wing Tomas Kopecky during an exhibition game at Joe Louis Arena.

The injury happened about five minutes into Wednesday night's pre-season game. Kopecky hit Carle after he had passed the puck at the Detroit blue-line.

I just saw the hit on tsn...I..feel for the guy, trying to figure out what happened, who he was, and all that. Hope he's better than he looked.

Didn't see the hit. Was it clean and just "one of those things"? It would be a shame if someone was head-hunting in a exhibition game.
