THN.com Logo Tournament: Group Stage

The votes are in and the preliminaries are done. The Hockey News extended 40 logo tournament bids throughout North America and we’re one step closer to choosing the best logo in hockey.
After weeks of ranking the different leagues from top to bottom, champions have emerged from Ontario, Calif. to Rimouski, Que., down to Florida and back up to Calgary.
With the league voting closed, we move on to pool play. The advancing 40 teams have all been slotted geographically into four groups of 10. This week, you will be able to vote on your favorite from each of the new pools.
From there, the top four per pool will be slotted into a single-elimination bracket of 16. Each week (view the schedule HERE) your vote will determine who moves on until we are provided with an ultimate champion.
Will the sentimental favorites, the Chicago Blackhawks, be the victors? The rabid fan bases of the North Dakota Fighting Sioux or Ontario Reign may have something to say about that.
The Boston College Eagles and London Knights also cruised to victory in their respective leagues, but, of course, there’s only one way to make sure your team continues on the path to glory…

Some good and why (in order of best):
1- best - Rimousky Océanic - Great line, great subject, great colour, simple
2- Montreal Canadian - This logo is as memerable and as easy to reproduce as Apple
3- New York Army Black Knight - Simple, agressive, memorable
Now the bad:
1- Fireantz-fayetteville. Looking at this logo i am wondering where is the ant, and Am I going to a new waltDisney movie.
2- Chicago Black hawk, come one......too many colour, to many small details, and he is smilling....as if hockey player are there to drink tea
3-Pittburgh Penguins - this logo looks like he was done from Word using a clip art...what can I say....horrible.
2 Logo are close call:
1 - Minnesota wild very creative, line are great, detail excellent, but COLOURS!!!! OUCH!!!! A simple adjustment of colour would have made this one by far the best!

Yeah, the Sharks do have a rockin' logo, and Blackhawks fans,
be thankful we gave you Campbell because trust me, you ARE
going to need it!. Do I hear 'Hawks going 39-43 this season?

This Chicago dude needs a lesson in tastes, the Sharks logo is by far

I didn't like the fact that you were not able to pick from all the teams in each of the leagues at the start of the contest . they could have had the taken the top 2 fan votes in each nhl and echl and ahl and 1 team for each of the other leagues and the experts fill out the rest of the 40 teams

It was hard to vote against the Kalamazoo Wings, because I used to really enjoy going to their games in the IHL days, and I think they have a great logo...but I can't vote against my Blackhawks. I have the main logo and also the shoulder logo tattooed on my arms, so ultimately I have to go with them. Shame they're in the same group!

When counting all of the major sports as a whole, including post modern times(1970's to current), the most definitive logo, in regards to city location, team nickname, and logo reference goes to the...CLEVELAND CRUSADERS!. Design simplicity, location association, color coordination. Really, no others can compete, it truely is a complete logo!

Bowman, the Wings and Blackhawks are in the same class, they can't finish against each other. And P.R., Minnesota's logo sucks. London Knights gonna win suckers!
