The Hockey News Logo Rankings Central

Zoom Image

It’s the image that brings a city together and sets it apart from everywhere else. When players say they’re playing for what’s on the front of the jersey, not the back, this is what they are speaking of. The colors, mascots and traditions collide in an emblem forever emblazoned on flags, hats and hoodies – until some genius in marketing decides to go for a more youthful demographic, that is.

Welcome to The Hockey News' Ultimate Logo Rankings and Tournament.

Over the course of the next two months, we will first lay out our rankings of every notable league in North America, then let you vote on your favorites.

From your league votes, a tournament will be spawned. An event which will pit 40 teams from every league against each other, regardless of home attendance, winning record or prominence.

Below you will find links to our league rankings and below that links to each stage of the tournament.

Enjoy...

WSHL is a joke compared to the EJHL and AJHL. Plus they are at the same level as the OPJHL and they weren't even in this tournament so why should the worst USA teir III junior A league be in it. And that valencia flyers logo is awful just like that league.

The Motor City Mechanics were supposed to return last season. I'm doubting that they will be here this season as well.

I think you should do the WSHL, or (the western states hockey league) next because the Valencia flyers have a way tight logo

My choice for best overall logo is within a league that also has no mention. For any one interested, that league is the NAHL. Some of the logo's currently used in this league easily float on pro level waters. My vote for best overall logo goes to...the Mahoning Valley Phantoms! Exceptional art work, excellent color choices, superior overall design!! To me, the best there is yet!

Hey i know old school is cool but for some of us who are just getting to really like hockey i must say that I really like the Wild jersey. Its got cool colors and its unique. I also really like the Islander jersey they used only for a while, it had better colors, and i would have to say, that i wish some team would switch to the Nordiques old colors, they looked cool on ice, how about it Columbus!

I agree. CIS Hockey logos should be ranked. Looking forward to watching Nipissing compete in the OUA circuit in 2009-10. I haven't seen a game before, so how does CIS compare to major junior or US college?
