ST. LOUIS - The St. Louis Blues have added some depth to their blue-line by signing free-agent defenceman Andy Wozniewski.

Contract details weren't immediately available.

The 28-year-old spent last season with the Toronto Maple Leafs and had nine points (2-9) in 48 games. He also spent time with the AHL Marlies.

Wozniewski was signed by Toronto as an undrafted free agent in May 2004.

In 76 career NHL games, he had two goals and 12 points.

Oh, this is just sooooo exciting. . .roughly tantamount to watching wine ferment. I suppose that Wozniewski is going to really push Brewer, Jackman and Johnson to bring out their A game every night knowing that this potential Norris Trophy winner is available. Maybe when Jay ($4 million a year to spend more time on IR than Holmstrom spends in the goal crease) McKee gets injured. . .again! Add this guy to Matt Foy and Brad Winchester and I'm sure that we'll be seeing that Stanley Cup hoisted under the Arch next June. . .just like I'm sure that the Belgian brewer that bought Anheuser-Busch is going to be such a blessing to my home town. Time is running out on the honeymoon, JD. . .this will be your third season. Other Central Division teams have improved themselves (the Blackhawks and Blue Jackets, especially) but other than getting Legace a decent backup goalie in Chris Mason this team's off-season moves have barely been a blip on the radar screen.
